hi world! :D mao is back with another post :>
finally sorted out the S/U issue w my prof via email and she's so nice when she ended the email w 'happy to help', mao was touched when mao was feeling supa worried + confused? and she replied promptly too not to forget that :) cannot stand it when ppl don't reply asap

christmas is over and it was such a pathetic christmas to quote cow :(
but still, loving the christmas spirit in the atmosphere no matter how pathetic it is, it'll forever be mao's fave holiday - the season of joy, the spirit of giving; not to mention a signal that school is over and a new year is about to begin :) also the happy christmas songs + pretty decorations! :D

spent christmas with ahma and extended fam at her house :D meeting cousins + aunts + uncles (relatives in general) and we had potluck and mao's fam made sushi ^^ (as always) went there at around 2 and there was a lot of bbq food (excited cow) like stingray, satay and prawns :3 oh oh and we had lamb meat instead of turkey lololol it had this subtle lamb milk taste which cow and mao eventually decided that it was disgusting LOL. the log cake was quite gooood :> it was super chocolate-ty with a mini xmas tree choco deco on top and the whole cake was covered w chocolate, even the insides were filled with choco lol; had this sickly sweet taste but the choco was so rich hohoho mao ate a few bites only :D then besides eating we nuaed there using phones + watching tv and basically just rotting there like dead logs

on a side note, mao made some jelly (forced by mama to use the jelly powder) when mao just woke up somemore >:( mao anyhow made (and by anyhow mao really anyhow; like didn't even bother washing the spoon i used to mix the ingredients, instructions said to put water into jelly powder mix, not the other way round, and using half cup of sugar instead of one full cup :P) then somehow food colouring add a few drops then just gaodim, anyhow pour into jelly moulds, anyhow put in fridge and anyhow brought to ahma jia :O cow still remarked how sucky it tasted (she claimed that it was mildly SOUR which was gross) and that mao shouldn't bring it there in case no one wanted to eat it and we have to bring the entire box of jelly back home. BUT, mao's 6-7 yrs(?) cousin apparently liked it and ate alot :D EVEN AHMA ATE THEM :> mao touched :') mao's cooking still got hope lols :D

today, mao and papa and cow went to find mama at nex!
lunch at food republic where mao had nice hokkien mee then free ice cream for dessert from macs hohoho and they had red cones! :> mama was commenting how the ice cream tasted the same as honey creme's :P (again) mama and papa went to the toilet while cow wanted to show mao what the extra big fishballs cow always bought from ock was called - FIERY FOOTBALL ONSTIK.
mao and cow totally laughed out loud when we saw that cos it was plain ridiculous :P

afterwards, went to an old folks home near caldecott mrt when it was raining, to do some volunteer work - feeding the elderly / give out food
walked around the old folks home in the female section (cos they said that the old uncles are abit perverted :P dunno how true is that) and some were quite clearheaded while some were sleeping lol
gave durian puffs with cow in our gloves to the elderly ppl :D spoke to some of them minimally, blame that on my limited dialect vocabulary >:( and was quite amazed that some of them can speak english :D the oldest there was like 102? woahhh. felt quite happy to see them smiling :D hehe hope some day mao can polish up mao's dialect and speak to the elderly with confidence ^~^
